Good morning, Remix Parents and Students,
Here is a quick reminder of what will be happening in youth ministry this week. This Thursday, Nov. 13th, the doors will open at 6:30 PM, and Youth Group will take place from 7:00-8:30 PM.
This week in Remix, we will be in Acts, chapter 8. We will be focusing on Acts 8:9-25, and we will ask questions like, “Do you think it is possible for people to say that they are followers of Christ with their mouths, but not be true believers or followers of Christ?”
▪ Please encourage your students to bring a friend and their Bible!
If your students are not able to make it to group this week, I would encourage you and your families to read chapter 8 of Acts for the week and talk through the questions below.
▪ Also, parents, check the Parents Facebook Group and please sign up to bring something for God’s Table on Nov. 21st, we need your help to make this dinner happen.
Acts 8:9-25 Simon the Sorcerer tried to buy power.
• Why do you think it was so significant in the story that both men and women believed and even Simon the sorcerer believed and were baptized when they heard the truth of Christ?
• Why was it important that the believers received the Holy Spirit?
• Do you think it is possible for people to say that they are followers of Christ with their mouths, but not be true believers or followers of Christ?
– What does this look like in our world?
– What does it mean to be two-faced?
• Who do we need to have in our lives to be true Believers?
– Who do we need to receive in our life?
• Why do you think Peter had such a strong reaction to Simon the sorcerer?
• From Simon the sorcerer’s question, do you all believe that he was a true follower or believer?
– Or was he looking to gain another ability to impress the crowds and to gain power?
• Can we purchase the power of the Holy Spirit?
• How can we receive the Holy Spirit?
