Happy Monday Elevate Families, 

I want to inform you all that Elevate will be talking part in the God’s Table Ministry at the Centenary United Methodist Church on March 22nd. We will be serving a meal to individuals in our community that need a hot meal. 

We need some help to make this happen. We need two families to help cook enough food for 15-20 people. This could be as simple as spaghetti, we also need three families to bring desert for this event.

Please let me know that you will be bringing your student’s to this event that way we know that we will have enough volunteers for this event. This is an event that I will sign off on for volunteer hours for you students’ school. 

We will be meeting at Centenary United Methodist Church at 5:30 PM to get things set up for the evening. Please be back at the Centenary United Methodist Church at 7:15 PM to pick your students up.

Elevate families, this next Sunday, March 10th is Elevate Sunday!!

We will be celebrating what God has done and continues to do in our youth ministry!! We will be highlighting Winter Retreat 2024 and all the different things that God did you on that trip!! Also, this Sunday, we will be asking the following questions: What does it mean to sabbath? What does it mean to rest with God?

Hey friends, don’t forget we have Elevate tomorrow night. Doors will be opening at 6:00 pm for Spaghetti Wednesday. We will be eating in the Johnson Center. This is an opportunity for us to eat a meal together before we worship. This is also a great opportunity for those of you who play sports and do after-school activities to eat before Elevate. Regular Elevate will be happening later in the evening.

I can’t believe Winter Retreat 2024 is here!! We will meet at the Church tomorrow to pack the van and head up to Winter Retreat!!

Please join me in praying for the students as they go to retreat and hear a message about what it means to Sabbath and to spend time with God.

Please be aware of the information below that includes the travel plan and packing lists – what to bring and what not to bring to Winter Retreat.

2024 Winter Retreat Travel Schedule and Packing List:

FRIDAY Feb, 23rd :

4:15 Meet at LNC, eat pizza, and get the trailer packed

4:45 (no later than 5:00) Depart LNC

7:30 Arrive at Black Rock and get unpacked

SUNDAY Feb 25th :

11:30 Pack up the trailer

12:00 Group Picture and lunch

1:00 Depart Black Rock for LNC

3:30/4:00 Arrive at LNC and unpack the trailer

We will update you as parents and guardians if there are any changes.

Packing List:

-good attitude & open heart

-sleeping bag or sheets

-pillow

-toiletries/bathroom supplies

-towel and washcloth

-clothes for the weekend (warm & comfortable)

-Bible

-water bottle

-flashlight

Everyone bring a snack to share!

What NOT to bring:

-bad attitude

-inappropriate clothing

-drugs (prescription medications are to be given to an adult leader to dispense)

-alcohol and/or tobacco products

-weapons of any kind

Expectations:

By going to this event, you agree to respect the adult leaders and your fellow students. You agree to follow the rules and instructions given by adult leaders. You will participate in all events and be at assigned meetings unless permitted by an adult leader to be absent.

If you fail to do so, the adult leaders reserve the right to call your parents to send you home, and you will not be refunded the cost of this event.

Elevate families, I want to say that I am so excited for Elevate tonight and what God is doing here in the lives of our students!!

I just wanted to take some time and give you all a quick reminder that we are having an Elevate Parent meeting next Sunday at 11:00 AM in the Johnson Center.  We will be going over the travel plan for Winter Retreat 2024 and the things that you, as parents, should know about the retreat.

In addition to that, I will also be highlighting several different events that we will be doing here in Elevate in the upcoming months.  I also want to give you as parents, the opportunity to see and read the Youth Ministry Report that I submitted to LNC. Within that document, I have laid out where we have been in our teaching schedule and where we are looking to go.

Our goal here at Elevate is to continue to learn, grow, develop, and invest in the lives of our students to help them become Christ-like disciples. That way, they can go and be the hands and feet of Jesus in their world.

Elevate Family, the new Elevate Schedule is here!! We have all sorts of awesome things happening and coming up in the life of our student ministry. So please grab a Schedule down in the Elevate Room or print one off in the downloads section of elevateparents.org

Elevate Families, here’s a quick update for Winter Retreat. Winter retreat will be happening   February 23rd – 25th. If your student participated in the Elevate Cookie Walk, your student received $40.55 towards Winter Retreat.



If your student paid the deposit of $50 and participated in the cookie walk. That means your student has a total of $69.45 left to pay for Winter Retreat.
 
The final payment is due January 31st, If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Caleb.
