This week one of the afternoon rotations brings awareness to the millions of people around the world that have to walk to obtain their water for the day. Each camper will get to experience walking to the creek as if they were one of these people! In honor of the Just Water Experience, today the whole camp drank only water!
Small group time focused on testimonies and how to share your story. During free time many of the teens enjoyed swimming and got to visit Prayer Stations (run by Pastor Derek!) Campers got the chance to pray on their own in creative ways, focusing on the “Go” statements of Jesus: GO and pray, GO and sin no more, GO and do likewise, and GO and make disciples.
Tonight’s moose games included water kickball, volleyball, the grid, and dodgeball, so tomorrow we will see the final standings of color teams!
During worship we looked at what it is like to GO with others in focus, and the speaker asked us to think of one person that we need to GO and share the gospel with. It has been a great week so far and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!

This morning started with personal quiet time with God. It was really cool to see campers spread out all over camp doing their own devotions!
Each small group continued to talk about the Holy Spirit and His power.
Morning worship split between high school and middle school, to have a smaller group according to their age level. The afternoon consisted of a picnic lunch and free time, where campers got to choose between swimming, horseback riding, Gaga ball, prayer stations, and lots of other fun activities! Moose games today helped everyone cool off, since many of them involved water! After dinner we had another worship meeting, this time about the importance of surrender. The Laurel teens got a lot out of it and enjoyed praying together. After some more games and free time with snacks, they are off to bed for the night!

The first day of the Mid-Atlantic District Teen Camp was a success! The group arrived, got settled, and is making friends already. The first worship meeting of the week introduced our topic: Go! (Based on Acts) they also got to meet their counselors and small group leaders. The night ended with the start of MOOSE games like Karaoke! We have a great week ahead of us!

One quick note: Since this was the first day of camp our adult leaders had a lot on their hands. That is why today is such a short post. We will have more to share other days and hopefully some pictures to post as well.

Meet at the church on Monday, July 17 at 8:00am

We will return on Friday, July 21 around 6:00pm.

Don’t forget to bring money for lunch on Monday (and eat breakfast before you get there)

REMEMBER, you may NOT have your cell phone or any other electronic device while at camp. If you bring one for the van ride you MUST turn it in to Pastor Derek once you arrive at camp.

PARENTS: Pastor Derek will have his phone on him the entire time during camp. If you need to get a hold of your teen you can call or text Pastor Derek at any time. The students will also be able to use Pastor Derek’s phone if they need to contact you for any reason.

Swimsuit Guidelines:
Girls: swimsuits must be a one-piece or a tankini that touches (doesn’t show midriff).
You may also wear a t-shirt or tank top over a two-piece.
Guys: no speedos or short trunks. that’s just gross.

Also, the only cheeks we should see are the ones on your face
