Remix Christmas Party is quickly approaching! We hope to see you all there! We are going to try and be back to the church as close to 9:00 as possible, but we will keep parents up to date.
Students, wear your best ugly Christmas sweater and remember to bring a white elephant gift (no more than $10)
Parents, please let P. Caleb know if your student(s) are attending so we can make the proper arrangements for the food. Thanks!
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Youth Group is happening tomorrow night. To kick off the holiday season, we are packing gift bags for those in need and writing Christmas cards for those in our community while enjoying Christmas cookies. Hope to see you there!
Remix friends and families -The Cookie Walk is quickly approaching! This is the perfect way to get in the Holiday Spirit and eat some Christmas Cookies without spending hours in the kitchen!
So invite your friends to come out, December 14th, following the Worship Service at 11:15 AM at the Laurel Nazarene Church.
The students who participate on the 14th or donate cookies will receive money directly into their account. This money can be used for any future student event. (This is a great opportunity for NYC students to raise money towards the upcoming trip, as the next payment is quickly approaching. They will need to have a total of $1200 by January 15th.)
Please let us know what kinds of cookies you will be bringing. We are recommending 3-5 dozen cookies.
Hello, elevate students and families, I hope you’re all doing well, and I hope you are all having a great week!
This week in Remix, we will be taking a break from the book of Acts, and we will be looking at different ways that we can be thankful this holiday season.
The key verse that we will be looking at is Ephesians 5:20, “Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” We will be focusing on this scripture passage through the game Scattergories, and we will be challenging our students to think of different things that they are thankful for while also encouraging them to apply scripture to their own life at the very end of our game.
I want to encourage the students to be thankful for all the things that God has provided them with, but I also want them to know and to understand how they can use scripture and apply it to those things that they are thankful for.
I also want to take a quick moment and say I am thankful for each of you and your families and your participation in our student ministry here at the Laurel Nazarene Church. Please know that I’m praying for your family this holiday season, and I am hopeful and praying that God will reveal Himself to you all this Holiday Season.
Small Group Questions:
Have you ever just made a list of things that you’re thankful for?
What is your attitude after you wrote down the things that you were thankful for in our game?
How has your attitude changed or how does it change when you go from wanting everything you see to being thankful for what you have?
How often do we take time to be thankful?
How can you give thanks for the things that God has given you this week?
How can you apply scripture to your life IE Ephesians 5:20 to your life?
How can you and your schools and your homes have a spirit of thankfulness this week?

Acts 8:9-25 Simon the Sorcerer tried to buy power.
• Why do you think it was so significant in the story that both men and women believed and even Simon the sorcerer believed and were baptized when they heard the truth of Christ?
• Why was it important that the believers received the Holy Spirit?
• Do you think it is possible for people to say that they are followers of Christ with their mouths, but not be true believers or followers of Christ?
– What does this look like in our world?
– What does it mean to be two-faced?
• Who do we need to have in our lives to be true Believers?
– Who do we need to receive in our life?
• Why do you think Peter had such a strong reaction to Simon the sorcerer?
• From Simon the sorcerer’s question, do you all believe that he was a true follower or believer?
– Or was he looking to gain another ability to impress the crowds and to gain power?
